COVID-19 SALON RESTRICTIONS UPDATE
The COVID-19 pandemic has had a huge impact to all beauty business owners across Australia, with States, Territories and the Federal Government all having different rules and support packages available.
Below are some useful links to help you navigate what restrictions are relevant for your current situation and state during the current Coronavirus pandemic response measures.
IMPORTANT VICTORIA UPDATE (as at 3 August 2020)
Due to increased community transmitted infections within Victoria, the State Government has announced a new set of restriction, outlined below:
- From 6pm on 2 August, stage 4 restrictions are in place across metropolitan Melbourne.
- From 11:59pm on 2 August, the use of face coverings is mandatory throughout Victoria.
- From 11:59pm on 5 August, stage three restrictions apply throughout regional Victoria. This means salon businesses will no longer be allowed to trade while stage 3 restriction are in effect.
- Stage 4 restrictions will stay in place until 13 September 2020.

New South Wales
Beauty salons can open but must comply with the mandatory COVIDsafe checklist.
Small business should also check if they are required to register their business with the NSW Government as COVIDSafe
NSW Government Business Updates

Beauty salons were are able to trade and provide services from Friday May 15. All salons are to follow the States check list and operating guidance, as well as all government guidelines.
